Looking at the positive circuit, as output current increases, the voltage drop across the emitter resistors(r10/r14) increases, t3 will conduct more, causing t4 to conduct less and therefore causing t5/t6 to conduct less.
The voltage drop is senses over the emitter resistors of the power output transistors. This will turn on T3/7, which will turn on the opto's to remove the drive from T4/8 to limit the current to output transistors.
