What is the significance or what information does we get from energy and balance curves in CST Microwave studio ?

Balance express the power loss vs. frequency in a structure or through radition for a given excited port. In a case of a loss-less structure the balance = 1:
e.g. Port 1: Balance(1)=sqrt(|s11|^2+|s21|^2).

The energy view express the field energy in the system.
