Hello,
I am working with an Emerson 19 inch
TV, VCR, DVD combo set model EWC19T1.
It’s one that’s made by Funai
I am not getting sound - except just a little bit
of a distorted signal that’s barely audible at
full volume. It has stereo sound and uses a
pair of LA4285 mono audio amp chips for the
output. I injected a test tone into the input of
both chips and got a clean output signal from both.
So apparently the output ICs are ok.
The trouble occurs no matter which source is used,
whether it’s the tuner or one of the players the result
is the same. It would seem to me that there’s a single
preamp or some other kind of circuit that receives the signals
from all three sources and then shoots them signals
to the main amp chips. However I don’t know what
they are using because I don’t have any information
on this unit. I haven’t been able to locate the service
manual for this set. As I understand it this chassis
has been used in various makes and models of combo
tv sets. Does anyone here know of any of the other
makes and their model numbers so that I could
see if a manual exits under a different brand?
Im not sure of the chassis number there is more
than one number on it. (see pics below)
