hello,

how do i do a 10W isolated smps with no electrolytic caps ?

its for LED driving and electrolytics will fail in the heat of this enclosed product.

hi eem2am,

may i ask you, how hot is your ambient temp?
there are E-caps rated 105°C, you may be able to use it.
we use them for enclosed PSU, like chargers with no
overheating encountered.

hello thankyou ferdinand_leo,

it is very hot , it is residing in the base if a light bulb, completely enclosed. say 110 degree C. No fan, no vent holes.

ooh... that's really hot eem2am,

ok, let me know the other specs you need for your cap
and what is its specific purpose in the circuit...?

maybe you first try to use an e-cap then measure it's actual temp
while in operation. that would help you know how hot
that cap would be.

Mil grade tantalum will be very costly than normal caps
