Hi!
I have task to build interaface (PCB) between existing board with PIC16F873 (28pinPDIP) and dsPIC4013 (40pinPDIP)
I have to remove PIC from board and make some adapter in order to connect dsPC with that setup (3ph PWM inverter for AC IM). That adapter must be removable in order to put PIC again and vice versa.
I am total begginer with embedded systems. Will this operation be complicated and how can I do it? Please suggest possible problems and/or tips/tricks.
Thanks.
Regards.
Hi!
Well that is quite a task. U can make an adapter board but first check which pins of the existing setup are configured as inputs and which ones are configured as outputs. Also u should be very careful about the power supply pins. Can u post a schematic of the circuit? That will make things a lot clear.
Regards.
Why not use the dsPIC4012 which is the 28 pin version? A lot of Pics have common pinouts, unfortunatly, not the dsPics and the 16 series.
But I'm sure it would be easier to only have the same 28 pins to worry about.
