In a LAN system i had used DHCP for the pourpose of intranet, and for giving access to internet for specific users, i have used static ip, now i want to lock the static ip of those using the internet once assigned to them. How can i do this?

One option for this perhaps is not giving administrative right for the users. Is there any other option?

Go to Network Forum maybe there you can get an answer

Hi,

you can setup "dhcp reservations" on your dhcp server (router).
dhcp reservation assignes the ip address based on client MAC address,
therefore the same client will get always the same ip address (like static ip).
Be aware that this is not bulletproof and secure because any power win user can change their MAC address and get reserved "static ip".

take care,
