ie3d substrate help

hi to all...need some help here..What is the different between simulation using infinite substrate and finite substrate in ie3d?Is that still applicable fabricate the antenna based from infinite simulation?Lastly, how to determined the dimension of the finite substrate?...Hope someone will guide me up..Thanx

Re: ie3d substrate help

Hi lovhana

The difference, between simulations using infinite substrate and finite substrate with ground, is that you get nulls all around in 90° because there is no energy beyond the ground. And No back lobes that exist in finite substrate with ground plane.
there is differenc in the patterns and I think vswr almost the same.
