Friends,

Could anyone please brief me about Degraded relay channel,
does it mean that receiver is not receiving anything directly from sender and it is only receiving from relay.

Hi Mate!

T.M. Cover in his very famous book of "Elements of Information Theory" describes the Degraded channels as where receivers can be absolutely ranked in terms of their channel strength, and the capacity region of this class of MIMO BC channels is known now.

So from here we can conclude that degraded channels are those for which you know, at least their instantaneous gains. Now you can extend this concept to Relay channel as well.
