I wanted to know how to calculate the value of input capacitor in a two stage PV system (boost converter+single phase inverter). The input capacitor is connected across PV panel . There is also a DC link capacitor between the boost converter and single phase inverter.
In some literature I have found the formula for input capacitor for a single stage system(only inverter connected to PV panel) This is
Cin=Pmpp/(2*pi*f*Vmpp*dV)
Pmpp=Maximum Power Point
Vmpp=Voltage at Maximum Power Point
dV=Ripple Voltage
In two stage system , I am thinking this formula is relevant for DC link capacitor(connected between Boost converter and Inverter) ,and Vmpp has to replaced by Vdc link. What is the formula for Input Capacitor (connected across PV panel) in a two stage system.
