I have a 6 inch shaft that is 4 feet long. I am using this shaft in a piece of machinery and have to hold .3 degrees from one end to another in a bearing. If i have to do this then how can i get .3 degrees converted over to tell me how many inches that is. i have converted to radians but am trying to get that to radians. Do i have all the measuremebnts i need ...Please help!!
6 inch diameter shaft
4 feet in length
need to hold .3 degrees from end to end.
brainey64,
I'm assuming that you need the deflection along the surface of the shaft. If that is the case, then deflection = Pi X diameter X .3/360 = Pi X 6 X .3/360 = 0.0157.
