control speed of DC motor

hi everyone
can somebody tell me how to set PWM to control speed of DC motor?
I have it, but speed and voltage did not change.
 

have you looked at the PWM signal with an oscilloscope? you should see the pulse width varying as you control the speed? have a look at

what microcontroller are you using?
 

there are controllers with inbuilt pwm generation facility in 8 bit , 16, and 32 bit.... which one are you using... be clear and very specific when you ask help............
