scpi usb

hi.

How to send SCPI control commands to a Digital Multi Meter over USB from an embedded application?
We have an Atmel ARM9 board with linux on it, and we want to control an Agilent (or any) DMM through USB. I know, we have to sent SCPI text commands.

I have to select an expensive type DMM to buy, but only a type, what we can connect to our HW-SW application. a new type, which is not end of life yet.

OK. but how? how many end-points? what type? if 2 then which is for send, which for receive? Or is it working with some kind of standard USB-RS232 driver?

scpi linux

Hi,

In order to know the end points of the device, you can use any USB protocol analyzer.
you don' have to purchase one as the evaluation period is enogh to do your task
Advanced USB monitor , USB tracer ,USB monitor are some examples.
it can extract all the descriptors of your device.
