connection of hall sensor to the dq

hi all,

in my project I will be fixing the head of the hall sensor inside the tude and so only 3 pins are visible which has to be connected to the daq.

now my question is, how to connect these 3 pins to the daq?

Typical 3-pin hall sensor devices require a power-source : +V and GND.

The 3rd pin then gives an output which is a function of the applied magnetic field. The kind of output is defined by the actual sensor device you have selected.
So you need to tell us what that sensor's specs are ?

I am using ratiometric honeywell hall sensor SS495A1 4.5 - 10.5 V/DC SIP..

Ok so specs are straightforward ...

Connect DC power source (Vs, GND) to pins V+ and V-. Unfortunately the specsheet I have doesn't show the pin placement, and you link didn't work.

The 3rd pin will be at Vs/2 for zero magnetic field, and it will vary by plus or minus 3.125mV/Gaus depending on direction of the applied field. This gives a full scale of ~670 G plus or minus above/ below the null gaus value.

Quite straightforward actually

here is the sensor datasheet, pls find in the attachment..

U mean, shud i connect sensor with separate power supply or the sensor gets power from the DAQ itself?

As long as the GND is common to power supply & your DAQ, it doesn't matter where the V+ comes from.
I can see the package pinout now -- center pin is Gnd, left pin (facing the label side) is V+ and right pin is the output.

Rest is up to you. Take the plunge now, connect it and check now without asking further questions !!!!!!
