in my lpc1768 board the scl and sda pins are connected to pcf8574(port expander) and at2404 (eeprom) they both operate at 3.3v. my doubt is that if i connect a ds1307 rtc that runs on 5v supply to scl and sda pins will there be any problem?

i am using ds1307 as ram only i know lpc1768 has in built rtc

Although DS1307 device requires a +5V power supply, its inputs allows a voltage range compatible to both 3,3V and 5V logic levels.
