compact disk pcm

hi guys , I want to ask something .

How does the CD work ? I am doing the digital class D amplifier, in this small part digital PWM . My system will receive the PCM signal and then transfer it to the PWM before put it through the LPF to get the analog signal . So that is why i need to know the format of the output from the CDs , Is it the sequence of 0 and 1 ?
CD _ DA ( compact disk , digital audio)

For the PCM singal : before we get the PCM singal , we need to sampling and quantize the signal . For the quantizing part , it is the unsigned value ( 0 to 2^b with b is the resolution ) or signed value.

Regards
