Circuit for distinguish between NiMh and Li-IOn batteries

Dear all,

Do anyone have the circuit for distinguish between NiMh and Li-IOn batteries.

Also, the circuit for charging NiMh.

Please help me if u know it......

1 cell of Li-Ion fully charged battery will have 4.2V.
1 cell of NiMH battery, fully charged will be close to 1.4V.
So it will be difficult to distinguish these batteries just by measuring voltages, as 1.4*3 (3-cell NiMH) = 4.2 (1-cell Li-Ion) and so on ..
I would say, that for a given battery capacity, the Li-Ion cell will have lower internal impedance (resistance) than the NiMH one, and this can be measured by shortening a battery for a very short period of time and measurig its current and voltage responses --> U/I will give you the internal resistance value ... this one with lower value will be the Li-Ion ..
