hi............frnds
....i m working on designing of microstrip antenna of 2.4 Ghz
having some problems
1st...is there any effect of cell size on the -ve reflection response?
2nd..i have calculated all dimenssins of patch, feedline and transformer..for a resonent freq 2.4 ghz but still getting response at 2.35 ghz ........
by changing which parameters in design i can shift my response at 2.4 ghz....

thanks...

Hi,

can you tell me, what do you mean "cell size" exactly ? You mean in CST MWS or what ? Or you mean dimension patch ?

try https://www.emtalk.com/mpacalc.php.

What software you are using ?

im using s/w sonnet lite and ....i m talking about cell size which is the subsection of the body which we simulate................. its not the dimenssion of patch...........

If you can post your file, that would help.
A couple of pointers:
- Sonnet uses a metal box, so the four sidewalls are perfect metal. Thus, you need to keep the sidewalls a very large distance from your antenna.
- Keep the cell size less than 1/20 wavelength. If this is a single patch, then set the cell size to be an exact fraction of the patch dimensions (e.g., if you patch is 123.4 mils by 567.8 mils, set the cell size to be 12.34 by 56.78 mils or half that).
- Set air layer above patch to be 1/2 wavelengh in air.
