Hi all,

Do you know the best capacitor technology with the highest retention (charge holding) ?

Thank you for the quick reply.

I mean the second, the one that hold a charge the longest when charged and no load is connected.
 

Foil capacitors (e.g. polyelyster, polycarbonate, polypropylene dielectricum) have low leakage currents. They usually hold the charge for months. Electrolytic capacitors have higher leakage. But practically, discharge time constants are often at least several hours.
