Hi everybody,

Just I had observed, transformers are most likely composed of coils or inductors.
Is there any a transformer composed of capacitive element? Is is possible to build a capacitive motor? Any ideas, related articles or facts?

Thanks for reading this...

hi
There is a type of transformator in power electric composed of capacitive element.
It is CVT ( Capacitor Voltage Transformer).
CVT have a Capacitor Voltage divider and an Isolator/matching transformer .
it use for metering and power line commnucation applications.

Is is possible to build a capacitive motor? Any ideas, related articles or facts?

I think no now. energy transformation capability by elec field is verry less than magnetic field. There is no proper material for eseay polarization.

best regards

Hi,

Note that CVTs currently used for high voltage measuring and protection use basically capacitive dividers. They don’t have “mutual capacitance”, the analogous of the “mutual inductance” of ordinary transformers.
