can you help me understand how capacitance varies inversely with the square root of the reverse bias? what exactly is the square root of reverse bias?
 

This involves the small signal capacitance of an ideal step p-n junction that is reverse biased. The reverse bias value for the calculation should include the built in potential across the junction.

C(V) = C(0)*(Vbias + Vbuiltin)^0.5

many circuit book has those equation derived
in razavi's, gray and meyer, some semiconductor book also has it
