changing mac address dangerous

No it isn't dangerous.
Perhaps you can have problemes when your PC is identified in a network via the MAC adress. Then it won't be correct indentified with a new MAC adress. However, in this case you can simply change the MAC adress back to its inital value.

why changing your mac address is dangerous

so what happens when you change your MAC address?

Your MAC address changes :)

Changing the MAC address is often used by hackers to break into a network or wlan. When in a network computers are identified via their MAC address then with changing the MAC address you can steel the identity of an other PC.
Thus it is not adivseable to use the MAC address for identification, however some WLAN router do this.

But when you change your MAC address at normal home network nothing will hapen. Probably you will lose some network paktes until all computer in the network know your new MAC address, but that's all (and via the TCP/IP protocoll the paket loss is detected and the lost packets will be again send to you).
