Can the digital headphone output be matched to impedance of a recording device?

Can the digital headphone output be matched to impedance of a recording device?

What impedance does your recording device require?
Anyway the answer is yes. And it should probably be matched for signal quality.

That being said I have has some problems in the past trying to make a signal match an impedance that is way down in the dirt> 8 ohms....
There are other ways to make this work, have you thought about filtering?

How does that work and what type of filter is commercially available?20k is listed as input impedance. Years ago I used a 'T' network to take a speaker feed from a Bass guitar amp to give me a line in signal to a mixing board, but can't remember the actual circuit.[/b]
