Hello All Friends

Can I use Mosfet internal zener diode as 12v full wave bridge such as IRF3205?? Is the zener diode in forward bias act as a high current rectifier diode???

Thanks

Javed

Re: MOSFET as Rectifier

Several decades ago when Schottky diodes were very costly, it was common to use MOSFETs as synchronous rectifiers. There was a separate winding on the transformer to drive the gates.

Re: MOSFET as Rectifier

Hi,
What flatulent has said is absolutely true, however I do not think that is what javed had in mind as using a synchronous rectifier is quite different in the way that it is used than using a simple diode bridge, I think the answer to javid's question should be NO, unless the synchronous route as sugested by flatulent is followed. If you already understand how the synchronous rectifier operates, you probably whould not have asked the question in the first place.
Regards,
Bob.
