Can I make netlist to run STA using other tools than DC?

Dear dudes,

i have a doubt,

I am using Design Complier for Synthesis of synopsys

i get an netlist

Can i make this netlist to run my STA using other tools (other than synopsys) like

cadence CTE.

1)Do i need to do any modification
2) if so what r those.
3)What will be difficulties if i change the tools

Can i keep on changing the tools for diffrent diffrent processing steps

Yes .Its possible. Netlist contains only connection of the cells. No attributes attached wrto technology/tool. So , if you follow simple rules in DC while writing the netlist like Hirerchy separators and etc. make sure assign statements shouldnt be there in netlist. Cadence tools doesnt support assign statements in BE flow..

yes it is possible

yes assign statements should be avoided as much as possible while extracting netlists. i face many problems with them
