What type of verilog coding can we use in order to get our fpga to control powerline communications......

LOL - please rephrase your question. Maybe we can help then.

But I wonder if you will be able to work out a solution that will be cheap enough. PLC is high volume and thus very cost sensitive.

I think, it won't be a reasonable production design platform. But for a prototype, to evaluate modem algorithms, it can make sense.

It might, but several vendors have evaluation platforms based on microcontrollers or similar. Al these platforms have everything you need to develop the modem algorithms. The nicest platform is based on a microcontroller with DSP functionality from TI. It has an analog front end, OFDM software code, ...

what else do you need?

Guys im doing a project on the Altera based FPGA for my final year project...im still confused on what type of fpga must i use so that i can implement
powerline communication....there's already few projects created by using PICs...how can i do the same using FPGAs...im totally blank...help me out...
:???:...im even stucked on the coding part......
