Hi,

is it possible to specify multiple Retention Strategies for the same Power Domain/register with respect to the UPF 1801-2013 Standard?

I read the standard and I didn't found any hint if this is allowed or not. As far as I can see other strategies will be evaluated using the precedence rules described in chapter 5.8, but retention strategies are not mentioned here.

Thank you for any feedback.

Whatever the answers is for the standard, EDA tools might have a different idea ;)

That's clear :), do you have any experience how different tools are handling this? I currently do not have a tool at hand.

Cheers
Gerrit

Not that specific issue, but given they struggle even with the basics, you'll be in for a fun time getting something working.

Quite motivating . I'm currently tring to implement a new UPF feature for such a tool and I wanted to relate only on the standard and not on behavior of some other tool.

Note for myself "Other tools cannot handle basic stuff and the standard is more difficult than expected." :)

Thanks for your reply. If you have any additional source I can extract information from please let me know.

Fair enough - If you were a user I'd suggest you refer to the tool docs rather than the standard.
