Hi guys. I have a question for you. I'm doing a little motor driver project. I have a 3phase 6pole harddrive motor with a center tap. I need to figure out the speed of the motor from the zero crossing. Take a look at the waveform of the center tap attached. Could someone please explain to me what the waveform means; is the zero crossing between the positive peak and negative peak? If i know the period of the zero crossing how do i find the rpm of a 6pole motor from that? The time between the peaks in the waveform is 1.93mS and my rotation is around 1500rpm +/- 500rpm or so i think :-?

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

I'm doing this project using dsPic33. Can the admin move this thread to Microcontroller section where hopefully i can get this answered? Or can i just repost in Microcontroller section?
