how to calculate amplitude

Hi
I need an algorithm used to calculate amplitude of sin signal?
thanx...

calculate amplitude

gameelgamal,
You do not supply enough information. What parameters are available to you upon which to base your calculation?

Kral

Ok
I want to use a microcontroller to calculate the amplitude of a sin signal

the microcontroller has a built in analog to digital converter unit

the sin wave will be in the range of 220V-50Hz. So ,firstly, I will use a step down transformer

I also have an OPAMP circuit that can add a DC offset to the signal

What I need is an algorithm which can compute the amplitude using a certain numer of samples of the sin

thanx..
