burned program code is stored in which memory of 8051?

Hi,
we(Beginner) are starting a mini project, in that i have a question.
that is,

1.The hex code of program (for 8051) is stored in which memory of 8051?

why i have this question is ,i think our hex code for 8051 excess 4kb. i read in data sheet 8051 have 4kb flash memory.

The hex code is stored in the ROM i.e Flash Memory of your controller,
The variables you defined in your code is stored in RAM.

If you are beginner you can't write code having size > 4Kb

As 4Kb is too much.

And if it is so, you can try different variants of 8051 like AT89S52 etc etc.

we do the project of home automation using sensors,keypad,lcd...
we use the keil ide to covert the assembly to hex code.
so how i know the size of hex file(instruction set) to select microcontroller?

If the size of hex file is 1 KB then it means your hex data is 1 KB. Your mcu's program memory should be more than that.

its not the absolute method to know hex data size., using keil assembler tool, once target was builded bottom of keil tool showned by like this.
program size: data=__ xdata=__ code=___
