Buck-Boost Converter (Unique method)

Hi Guys and Ladies,

Just wanted to ask a very stupid question. I wants to get an IC chip to build a buck-boost converter for my solar charger. However, i cant get one with the right specs. May i ask, can i connect the output of a buck converter to the input of a boost converter to get a buck-boost converter.

May i ask, can i connect the output of a buck converter to the input of a boost converter to get a buck-boost converter.

This is possible in theory, however losses and inefficiencies take a toll.
