"body effect" circuit confussion

Hi,
if i connect bulk of the headlight nmos Q1 to the source of it so as to eliminate body effect, is the circuit still able to operate right? If that, why do not people choose this scheme?

Only triple well (or twin well) devices can their sources be shorted to their wells, and these devices are larger in size. So, it might bot be good to be used in vlsi
