Hi

You can also use SIMETRIX - easy to use software

All the best

it depends on the level of detail you want to see, and what aspects. do you need a schematic and then layout? that will influence software choice too.

topology selection: PSIM / Simulink

component selection? Ridley 4-5-6

power electronics behaviour? probably PSpice

controller design? probably simulink.

EMI ? maybe simplorer with HFSS link?

LTspice (formerly SwitcherCAD III) from Linear Technology is the best to use, because it is optimised for SMPS design. It is very easy to use - and it is FREE!!

I like LTspice also. And for me it is easy to use. I swear I have used Mentor Graphics for 7 years and still feel confused. (Why do simulators have to be so complicated.)
