Best free C compiler help needed

best c compiler

Hi, what C compiler do you recommend for free?
Is keil the best? Can I programm any atmel chip?
If I see in the data shet the adress of the ports, timmers etc and declare it it´s possible to programm any microcontroller?

What micro are you intended to use?

if it 8051 then keil
if you are using AVR then AVR Studio from atmel is the best
it is free
