B&W composite video or RGB to graphic LCD. is that possible?

B&W composite video or RGB input to graphic LCD interface.
I know this is a kind of generic question, but is it possible?
Have you found any such projects on the net?

I guess there has to be a microcontroller, which takes the video signal or the RGB signals in and drives the graphic LCD digitally.
