Greetings,
So FSCQ1265 is a QR Flyback controller. It "decides" to switch the FET on when the auxiliary voltage has swung down, representing secondary coil defluxation. The auxiliary coil voltage detection is done with a simple comparator. The auxiliary coil voltage is divided down and fed to this comparator as on page 13 of the datasheet.

Question is, why is this divider chosen (in all the app notes etc) to use such low Ohmic value resistors?

It seems needless to run several mA through this divder? Forexample, Page 19 of the datasheet shows the divider being made up of R104 = 1.5k and R105 = 470R. Why such low values?
The app note AN-4146 also shows similarly low values being used here. Why? Admittedly the auxiliary coil may suffer from peak charging due to leakage inductance ringing, but surely the series resistor R103, and the auxiliary bus capacitor filters that out?
Also, No other QR Flyback controller datasheet shows such low values being used in the detection circuit. So why this one?

(Note: All Masters of Electronics will know i do not speak of any industrial secrets here, since these datasheets etc are freely available to all in the world.)

for a 15V pk signal say, the pk current is 7.5mA, so not too extreme, likely answer is that they want ( or need ) a low Z on that pin, given the diodes are there it would be too easy to get rectified RFI noise after the diodes if the R's were 100's of k ohms ...
