Operational amplifiers

I have to design the electronics of a model-airplane.
So I have to use LPFs ( low-pass-filters).
i think it's preferable to use OP-Amps tha capacitors-resistors only.
In the model plane i am not allowed to use voltage higher than 7 Volt.
is it possible to find an op-anplifier that works i such low voltage?

Re: Operational amplifiers

7 voltage is high. u can even find opamp works at as low as 1.8V
check Maxim, TI, ADI website
good luck

Operational amplifiers

What is the cutoff frequency for your filter? Quite a number of opamps has difficulties operating abouve 1MHz.

Re: Operational amplifiers

I think LM10 opamps work at 1.5V. You can get these in the national or amxim website i guess.

Re: Operational amplifiers

Hi
I agree with our friends. Some opamps can work with very lower supply voltages as the technology scales down. if you want a good book about opamps and their applications, I recommend the book by Sergio Franco. unfortunately I can't remember the exact title of the book but I think that was something like Design with Analog ICs and Operational Amplifiers.
good luck.

Re: Operational amplifiers

Microchip offers free software FilterLab for calculating of active filters with Op Amp. You can use also Microchip's CMOS Op Amps for 5V single supply MCPxxx.

Operational amplifiers

Low power means low HZ,so when you choose which chip, you may notice this.
