Hi all

I was trying to solve some of the old exam papers for my exam.I am not able to do the following problem.

Can anyone over here help me out in solving this problem with respective explanation.

(Also, please note that questions like this will be posted by me especially this week .So any good friends who are willing to help me out in solving are most welcome.I surely will be very grateful to you as this exam is the most important for me)

Thanks in Advance

For V1:
Both MOS are diode connected => both are at saturation:

I1=I2
µnCox(w/l)n(V1-Vtn)^2 = µpCox(w/l)p(Vdd-V1-Vtp)^2
Solving this equation: you can get V1.

For V2:
PMOS is diode connected => at saturation.
If Vtp >= Vtn: You should assume that NMOS is at triode.
I1=I2
µnCox(w/l)n(Vdd-Vtn-(V2^2)/2) = µpCox/2(w/l)p(Vdd-V1-Vtp)^2
Solving this equation: you can get V2.

If Vtp<Vtn:
you should check mode of operation of NMOS after previous solution (Vds>Vgs-Vtn)
If not at triode, solve as in saturation.

Hi..Thank you very much for the reply.Let me try the way you told me.

If it works OK, I will get back to you to tell about its result.

Thanks once again.
