Hi there!
I am working on a bluetooth transceiver. I want to make it work for more than 3km. And thus I have to calculate the range and the power. Please help me if u can

the path loss can be estimated:
L (dB) = 32.45 +20logf(frequency,MHz)+20logR(distance,Km)

and the loss when 1.9 GHz plane wave is through a wall is about (10-15)dB

you can use Remcom wireless insite to accurately obtain the path loss.

no way. If you want to stay in bluetooth specs. A typ bluetooth transceiver has -92 dBm RX sensitivity and +10 dbm TX power on its max class.
To reach 3 km distance, also in LOS in reliable way, you should add more than 20 dB! in your budget link.
