Imagine this communication system: Bit Generator+DSS Spreader+QPSK Modulator --> AWGN Channel ---> QPSK Demodulator+Despreader.

The spreader converts a 4 bit sequence into a 32 chip sequence. So each bit is represented by 8 chips.

One interesting thing is to plot the BER(Eb/N0) of the QPSK modulation and using the spreader, which is better due to the processing gain. But i have doubts about the Eb of the chip (the channel bit, Ebc) and the Eb of the data bits. Is Ebc = Eb/8?.

Should I plot the BER_qpsk(Ebc/N0) and BER_system(Eb/N0) in the same picture to compare them? Or is more logic to plot BER_qpsk(Ebc/N0) and BER_system(Ebc/N0) in the same picture? Or BER_qpsk(Eb/N0) and BER_system(Eb/N0), etc?

thanks!
