Analog technique for Digital sensor TCS3200

Im working on a project of detecting Red color by using Digital sensor TCS3200

Here is the sensor's fuctional block diagram

The output is a square pulse, the change in number of pulses indicates the change in color

The problem is that my teacher require me finish this project USING ANALOG ONLY (no MCU). He suggested to convert the change of pulses into the change of voltage

I do not know what X is in this diagram. Could you show me some suggestions?
