analog power and digital power differences!!!

hi every1.
i was reading the atmega8 datasheet and i couldn`t understand this parts

PC4 can also be used as ADC input Channel 4. Note that ADC input channel 4 uses digital
power.

PC3 can also be used as ADC input Channel 3. Note that ADC input channel 3 uses analog
power.

what does it mean uses digital power or analog power?

Power is the same but the way you regulate the current varies.

Analog power means the power you obtain from Analog regulators. Ex : Triac , you can vary current 20 -270 V.

Digital Power means the power you obtain from digital regulators. EX : simple LED what you give for on/off ? 0/1- meant supply digitally.

It means that PC0 to PC3 output drivers and positive clamping diodes are connected to AVCC rather than VCC. Review the respective comments in the ADC chapter of the datasheet.

The difference matters if you have a filtered AVCC supply in your design and have a PC0 to PC3 pin switching as digital output while a conversion is in progress.
