Hi

I using a split power plane in altium - everything was fine until I decided to make the board larger. Now I have a gap in the power plane where the old board outline used to be and the old power plane. How do I get it to make the old power plane continuous again. Using rebuild split planes does not seam to work. This is driving me mad as the thought of starting from scratch is just too much to think about... :(

Why not draw another plane over it and assign the same net label to it?

This would work fine even if it is a power plane rather than a copper pour? I'll give it a go and see what happens

No it is not possible to do a copper pour on a power layer (which makes sense). In fact I've got so annoyed that I've started from scratch and it has just split my damn power plane without me even getting to this stage - See attached image where the top segment on a power plane has just been cut in two - both sides are connected to ground.

I ran into the same problem with Altium PCB layout, a gap was created in all my power planes, caused apparently by changing the size of the PCB. I was able to fix it as is suggested. I used the Place >> Line to place 4 lines to create a square plane that overlapped the two planes that had a gap in between them. Once I created the new plane that joined the two halves of the split plane, Altium filled in the gap.

Afterwards I simply deleted the small square plane.
