DSB-SC=DOUBLE SIDE BAND SUPPRESSED CARRIER
SSB-SC=SINGLE SIDE BAND SUPPRESSED CARRIER
When transmitting SSB-SC you need half the POWER.When recieving the band is half crouded.SSB is much faster to tune on.With DSB,when tuning, one must tune on the zero point(missing carrier)in order to achieve accurate responce.SSB is two types-USB(upper suppressed band) and LSB(lower suppressed band).
Hope, this was useful!
in dsbsc the transmitted power is more as the name suggest it is double side band with suppress carrer....when we multiply a information signal which is low in frq band with the high frq carrer the resultant signal is carrier wave + two signals(original) shifted in the high frq band. thus as only one signal is necessary to transmit (the other one is carrrying the same infornmation). hence we go for ssb again suppress carrier means carrier is not transmitted .as it does not carry any kind of information .for more infornmation read george kenedys book....based on electronics communication
Only significant advantage of DSB-SC is saving of the cost of expensive sideband filtering in the receiver and transmitter, at the tradeoff of using twice the spectrum space.
