lvsignore cadence

Hi,
I want to add a transformer to my Cadence Design kit. In my technology library I only have inductors.
is it possible to do so?

how to use cadence pcd

Can you use an ideal transformer? If so, take a vcvs!

easier way is to remove it from the layout and schematic and put pins in its place (in both cellviews) then when you do PLS connect the schematic transformer to the symbol of the extracted view. my buddy did this for a stacked transformer and it works fine, and i've done it with custom inductors that aren't in my pdk. if you're using virtuoso pcd theres a whole section in the docs which says how to modify your existing lvs rules to recognize pcd instances.

For LVS purpose you can take 2 inductors. For compliance the LVS checks only their physical existence (and distance), not their interaction.

You can turn On the cell property call "lvsIgnore" in cadence.

cadence how to add new model

To oermens:
Thanks very much. I will try it.
But is it possible to do the postlayout simulation includign the transformer and the rest of the circuit together

to raduga_in:
where is this property , I can't find it

add tech library cadence

yes it is possible. in the schematic and layout you remove all instances of the transformer and replace them with pins (i.e. P1 P2 S1 S2 for primary and secondary coils). Then create a symbol of your circuit and connect the transformer symbol to the pins you added. The only downside is that in postlayout you aren't simulating the extracted transformer, but the schematic equivalent circuit.
