What are the latest developments in the Process Control Industry?
What technologies will be applied in the future for Process Control applications?

Manufacturers introduced PACs as an improvment of PLCs.
But I´m not convinced that it is really a new concept but only integrated technology.

they used programmable logic controller for automation of electromechanical processes. PLC has a lot of functions including sequential relay control, motion control, process control etc.
