About Pipeline ADC and Sigma-delta ADC

Hi,all,
I want to study and design an ADC,
which should I choose?Pipeline ADC or Sigma-delta ADC?
Anyone can give me some opinions and suggestions?

then pipeline.

I agreed, flash is fast but low in resolution...

Pipeline is moderate

Delta sigma is high resolution ADC

flash is the simplest and fastest .but has lest resolution.Pipeline has both high resolution(8-12bit)and high speed (100-200MHz).
sigma_delta has higher resolution (>14bit)

If you focus on innovation at circuits level then pipeline
system level then delta sigma

PIpeline ADC is for high speed, sigma delta for lower speeds but lesser noise and better SNR.

Anyhow flash ADC is a part of all of the above so consider that to start with.

you need to come up spec first and then study the technology you will use , then it becomes easy to pick up the topology.
