Hi,

I am doing a project using CAN bus. I am very new to this area. I need to know more about PGN(parameter group number) and SPN(suspect group number).

Can any one give me the complete list of SPNs in J1939 protocol.

Thanks in advance

For a complete list of SPNs, please see if you can lay your hands on a copy of SAE J1939-71 standard. I don't think the full list is available anywhere else.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. I need to more about J1939

1) How can I send more than 8 bytes of data through this protocol?
2)What are diagnostics and how they are used in j1939 protocol?

Thanks in advance

For details of diagnostics, please refer to SAE J1939-73 standard.

Actually, there are a lot of short presentations and help articles on the web which explain the basics of J1939. Some of them can be found here and here.
