Is there any difference between a normal capacitor to the "disk capacitor"??
why i am asking because we are doing project for which disk capacitor of 0.22 micro farad is needed but due to non availability of disk capacitor we used normal capacitor(ceramic) of 0.22 micro farad. But our circuit is not working..I am having doubt on disk capacitor ..is there any difference with other type of capacitors..

Thank you,

What is the capacitor used for in the circuit? How critical is the size, did you get a tight enough tolerance? Is your cap polarized and is it mounted correctly? Types of capacitors have better uses in applications based on their properties such as leakage, ESR, ESL, dielectric absorption, stability, Quality factor, inductance, frequency response.
