Hi, there,

What's the relationship between QL and Qu?

Is this correct? Qu = QL / (1 - 10 ^ (-S21/20)).

Regards,

saryee

Hi,
What is the circuit you are assuming? Or is it circuit independent?
B R M

In general:

Qu = 2ΠWp/Wd

Where Wp :- Peak energy stored
Wd :- Energy disipated

Series circuit:

Qu = X/Rs

For the inductor Qu = ωL/Rs

For the capacitor Qu = 1/ωCRs

Parallel circuit:

Qu = Rp/X

For the inductor Qu = Rp/ωL

For the capacitor Qu = RpωC

QL is only defined for a resonator

QL = Fr/BW from response

In terms of reactance and resistance, QL = X/Rload

In series circuit QL will be high with large L and small C

In parallel circuit QL will be higher with small L and large C
