Hey guys, I m using a voltage comparator, LM311 in my circuit. A pull up resistor is required for the o/p of the collector to go high ryt?? so on wat basis the resistor value is decided? Is there any particular design for it? If so, can you please help me?

It depends upon the load you want to drive and how fast you want a response.

You should keep the output sink current to no more than 8mA so the smallest resistor you can use is R = Vs / 8mA where Vs is the voltage to the resistor.

The largest value depends upon the load and the response time you need to drive the output load stray capacitance.
